christmas

Christmas is a traditional festival in western countries. Most of the festivals of the western countries are related with religions. Jesus's birthday is celebrated on Dec.25. After Halloween, my neighbors have been preparing for Christmas. They bought colorful lights to decorate the houses, and put Santa Claus on the roof near the chimney and polar bears in front of the door. Bells and flower rings are hang on the door.
Before Christmas, the post offices are very busy. People mail their cards to their relatives and friends to express their hopes and wishes. Many big parades are hold on the main street. Many people go there and see the great ceremony activities. People wear the best clothes in the day. The whole family sit together to have a good dinner, exchange gifts. At midnight, people go to church and welcome a new day. Today is the happiest day for children. They can receive their desired gifts from their parents, friends and Santa Claus.
In our country, China, the young men celebrate this festival with their friends nowadays. They may have dinner and games together. This year, I hope I could have a white Christmas.
