Field Trip to Niagara Falls

Yesterday, we had a field trip to Niagara Falls. When I was in China, I knew the Niagara Falls. It is one of the largest falls in the world. Meanwhile it is one of the most attractive resort when you go to America and Canada. This week we have been studying the War of 1812, a battle broke out over there. So we went to the site ourselves.
On the road, Joseph told us some places when driving. We saw the bridge across the Lake Ontario, Welland Canal that connects Lake Erie and Lake Ontario and you can sail on. It is more safe than Niagara River because Niagara River has a huge drop. We also passed Guelph and  McMaster University. Feng was interested in assembly line of the Ford. After two hours' journey we arrived at rainbow bridge. We could see two huge wide falls. Most of the falls were frozen, but the water was still flowing. We were covered by the water mist. The water was so clear, the color of the water is light green like a purified jade. The Niagara River was still frozen. Maybe summer is a good season for traveling. I can imagine it will be funny when we sail down the river and the falls drop down making our body soaked. A amazing thing happened in welcome center that a women who sat beside us can speak Chinese standard and clearly.
Before lunch, Joseph led us see the site of the battle--Drummond Hill Cemetery.
Then we had a lunch in McDonald. We had happy time there.
The most expected thing was shopping at Outlet. We went into some famous brand shops, such as Coach, MK, CK, ECCO, etc. I saw some people taking packages out of the shops. I did not buy anything, but just looked around. I always buy things when needed. Even though the items were cheaper, but I was not enthusiastic to buy things.
Then we went to Value Village. Over there the commodities were cheap and were donated or second hand. I saw a Danier jacket and the price of which was $19.99.
I also saw that movie tapes were sold. I wondered who watch movie by video tape recorder today.
On the way home,it was rush hour. Joseph's GPS had red mark indicating traffic congestion. I knew that GPS communicate with the satellite. If every GPS has an IP address like a computer. I wanted to know how it works. If I have time I will search for its operating principle.
It was a happy journey.I like field trips. Not only can I learn something about Canada, but also can we have more close relationship.
